• Greet them warmly and be friendly
• Try not to scare the child by putting on
your PPE, mask 😷 and headcap
• Ask the child to have a seat on the
dental chair
• If the child is anxious, he/she can sit on
the chair with their parent
• Call the child by their pet name so they
view you as someone familiar
• Try to be their friend to gain their trust
• Let the child explore the dental chair
and show them the triple syringe,
suction and handpiece to familiarise
them
