Biology is the study of life and living organisms, helping us understand how living things grow and function. It developed from early knowledge in ancient civilizations and was later improved by scientists like Aristotle, known as the Father of Biology. All living things are made of cells, which are the smallest units of life. Scientists like Robert Hooke, Anton van Leeuwenhoek, Matthias Schleiden, Theodor Schwann, and Rudolf Virchow helped develop the cell theory, which states that all organisms are made of cells, cells are the basic unit of life, and all cells come from pre-existing cells.
