RE: REQUEST FOR PERMISSION TO CONDUCT TEACHING PRACTICE
Dear Principal,
This is a formal request for Hillview High School to host a UNISA student teacher during the
2026 teaching practice period, as part of the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
Senior Phase programme.
UNISA policy requires all B Ed, PGCE, and Diploma students to integrate the theory covered
in their modules with real classroom experience in accredited schools. This practical com-
ponent is a non-negotiable part of becoming a qualified teacher. It only works when student
teachers are placed in schools where they can observe, practise, and grow under the guid-
ance of experienced educators.
The student teacher listed below is registered for TPS3705 and will conduct teaching practice
at the Senior Phase level (Grades 7 to 9). She will respect all school policies, procedures, and
the code of conduct for the full duration of her placement.
We ask that you assign a suitable mentor teacher to support and assess her progress over
the five-week period.
