Chromosome
i) Chromosomes are highly coiled and condensed chromatin
fibers, (chroma: coloured, soma: body)
ii) The complex of DNA and proteins is referred to as
chromatin fiber.
iii) The chromatin material is composed of:
a) Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) (40%)
b) Histone proteins (60%)
