Advantages of the Objective Items Test
Wide range of content material.
Short period of administration time
Easier/fast to score.
Cheap(machine)(government).
Higher reliability.
Objective items often test skills other than those that the teacher intended.
Limitation of the Objective Items
Difficult to reach higher order thinking.
Does not reveal thinking process
Can be more difficult (time consuming) to construct
Reusing tests may be problematic (to the same group)
Promotes guessing (25% on multiple choice; 50% on T/F)
