Read the instructions carefully. • Make sure you have access to this resource: Social Media, Development, and Government (available on module site under resources). • Open a new PowerPoint presentation and perform the activities provided: • Create a 5-slide PowerPoint presentation. • Turnitin is enabled for this assessment. (Make sure you accept the End User Licence Agreement – EULA) • Similarity score should be less than 35%. Activities The 2030 Agenda was adopted unanimously by the United Nations in 2015, as “a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet” [1]. The agenda has three intertwined dimensions – economic prosperity, social justice, and environmental protection [2]. It is composed of 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) that collectively “are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.” [3]. Each of the 17 sustainable development goals has targets (for a total of 169 targets), each of which is measured by indicators. Select one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and base your presentation on the chosen goal. 1. Slide 1: Title Slide (Use title slide layout) [4] • Title: "Social Media and Sustainable Development Goals" (Bold, 60, any Color) • Include your name, surname and the student number as sub-title. (Centre aligned, any colour) • Insert any picture related to your chosen goal (adjust the size for an appropriate fit and Centre align) 2. Slide 2: Overview of the Selected SDG (Use title and content layout) [6] • Brief explanation of the SDG • Why this SDG is important globally and/or locally 3. Slide 3: Key Challenges Addressed by the SDG (Use title and content layout) [4] • Main problems the SDG aims to solve (atleast 4) • Use short bullet points 4. Slide 4: Role of social media (Use two content layout) [6] • Explain how social media supports this SDG (left pane) • Awareness campaigns, hashtags, storytelling, advocacy, or education (you may include post examples) (right pane) 5.
