1. Anatomical Position: Be able to describe and identify anatomical position.
2. Planes of Section:
a. Coronal/Frontal plane
b. Transverse plane (horizontal plane, or cross-section)
c. Sagittal planes
1) Midsagittal/Median plane
2) Parasagittal plane
d. Oblique plane
3. Directional Terms:
a. Anterior/Posterior
b. Dorsal/Ventral
c. Superior/Inferior
d. Cranial/Caudal
e. Medial/Lateral
f. Superficial/Deep
g. Proximal/Distal
4. Regional Terms:
✓ Identify the anterior and posterior regional terms given in your lecture text.
5. Body Cavities:
✓ Locate the following structures, using the articulated skeleton, anatomical models, and figures
in the textbook.
• dorsal body cavity
