• 1. Boiling Point (Bp ) is the temperature at which the
vapour pressures of a substance equals the atmospheric
pressure.
• The stronger the intermolecular forces, the higher the Bp
• 2. Melting Point (Mp) is the temperature at which the
phase of a substance changes from solid into liquid
phase. Or
• Is the temperature at which the solid and liquid phase are
at equilibrium.
• The stronger the intermolecular forces the higher the
melting point.
