Paragraph
Opinion paragraphs allow the writer to argue their perspective and use specific detail to support
their point.
Your topic will either be in SUPPORT or AGAINST prohibition in Canada during the 1920s.
The side you are on will be assigned to you. Your argument will have 3 points that are
supporting using evidence we have discussed in class.
If your assigned stance SUPPORTS prohibition in Canada, you will write an opinion paragraph
explaining why prohibition benefitted Canada in the 1920s and 1930s.
If your assigned stance is AGAINST prohibition in Canada, you will write an opinion paragraph
explaining why prohibition was bad for Canada in the 1920s and 1930s.
You will bring your paragraph to class on Monday and prepare to have a debate with your team
and the opposing side
Your paragraph should be double spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font. It should be about 1
