Cyclical: Starts and ends in Transylvania. Could be used to suggest that the cycle of good and
evil will continue but good will continue to prevail.
Links w Dorian’s cyclical structure: except that’s more pessimistic bc links w/ ephemerality
of life as his death makes no difference.

Epistolary format: Book written for entertainment and this makes it more entertaining
because reader knows what’s going on (ie. w/ Lucy) and more thrilling because it makes it
seem more real.

Links to morality play: Dracula represents evil in the world, and Mina & Merry Men
represent good. Underpinned by Christian traditional ideas, and Stoker’s personal politics on
women and foreigners, and ends w/ good vanquishing evil.
