incorporated or to be incorporated
Submittals
are NOT contract documents. Prepared by subcontractors and material
suppliers, sent to GC to review and approve them, which means the GC has
varified field measurements,
materials have been checked and construction criteria has been coordinated.
Then- the submittals are sent to Designer (if the submittals are NOT checked and
signed by GC,
designer should immediately return them without review). Designer reviews
submittals ONLY for limited purpose of checking for conformance with info
given and correct design intent (designer is NOT responsible for accuracy of
measurements, completeness of details, verifying quantities, or checking
fabrication or installation procedures). If
necessary, the submittals are forwarded (by designer) onto appropriate
consultants for review. Once consultant reviews, they send it back to designer,
who then sends back to GC. Designer may indicate on dwgs that no exceptions
are taken, that marked corrections should be made, that they should be revised
and resubmitted or that they are rejected.
