NURS 6630: CASE 3 Psychopharmacologic Approaches to Treatment of Psychopathology According to the history the client has participated in multiple treatments without achieving remission within the last 5 years. The PMHNP should request the medical records to gain a complete history and physical assessment from the past. Next, the wife should come in to offer vital information regarding the client’s day to day life. Speaking with the wife could also suggest various triggers that imped the client’s remission. The wife and children may offer insight into the client’s compliance with taking his medications. The PMHNP should learn from interviewing the family if support is offered freely with the client or if conflict amongst the family has been created. The patient is a retired engineer. Were the circumstances of his retirement standard practice or forced? The family is an excellent resource to gather this information.
