The CMTO - Professional Exam assesses
knowledge of professional standards,
ethics, and legal responsibilities required for
safe massage therapy practice. It focuses on
regulations set by the College of Massage
Therapists of Ontario, including consent,
confidentiality (PHIPA), boundaries, and
prevention of professional misconduct.
It also covers scope of practice, client
assessment, documentation,
communication, and clinical decision-
making, with emphasis on accountability,
public safety, and maintaining professional
conduct in all client interactions.
