Social Media Benefits People’s Lives
Social media has seen a fair share of criticism since its inception not more than two
decades ago. Most of this criticism is based on its addictive qualities which have made it a
readily available distraction and a place to procrastinate. If one lives on planet earth, chances are
that they use social media in one way or another. The source of concern has, therefore, been that
if the trend of procrastination on social media continues, the productivity of many people,
companies, and countries will go down dramatically. There has also been concerns about people
abandoning their normal lives altogether because they spend all their time on social media. Its
critics say that no good can come out of it. But is this really true? Despite all the controversy and
criticism surrounding it, social media has improved human interaction and social relationships a
great deal.
To begin with, social media has connected the world in a way never seen before. Today,
people in every corner of the world can communicate with each other at an instance. This way
people can stay in touch, share experiences, and learn from each other. This connection has
extended beyond social interactions. When people in one part of the world are undergoing
