Now it’s your turn! You get to research a business and conduct a SWOT analysis. You will also research its competitors to
help you identify its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Remember, a competitor’s strengths and
weaknesses can be threats or opportunities for the business.
Part 1: Research
1. Choose a business to research, along with at least two of its competitors.

2. Conduct competitive intelligence to answer as many of the following questions as possible regarding the
business and its competition. Questions are for reference only and will not be graded. More reference questions
can be found in the lesson.
• What is the business doing well, and what can be improved? A competitor’s strengths can be a threat to the
business.
o It has high profit margin and strong customer base
o Threat is that the suppliers for the chips is only 1 company in the world TSMC
• What positive or negative feedback have customers given?
o Positive is that it is reliable and efficient
o A negative feedback is about thermal conductivity which can cards have high temperature which is
very hard to control
• Who are the current and potential competitors (direct, indirect, and/or substitute)?
o Direct is AMD
o Indirect Qualcomm
o Substitute Aramco
• In what areas does the business outperform or underperform competitors?
o It holds almost 85% AI accelerator market
o Its market had underperformed other competitors in the last year by 8%
• What is unique about the business, its products, or its services that the competition does not offer?
o It does not just give hardware but a full ecosystem in hardware software etc.. and outperforms the
competitors in the technology
• What is the business's strongest asset?
o Complete ecosystem Hardware, software and cloud infrastructure
• Where does the business lack in resources or expertise?
o It relies heavily on third-party manufacturing, especially TSMC, which can cause supply chain risks
• What emerging trends can be capitalized on?
o focus is on running large models in real time, as well as generative AI for video and multimedia
content. They’re also expanding into robotics, called physical AI, and edge AI, which focuses on low-
latency, on-device computing.
