EKG gating-

Give this one a try later!

Coronary imaging uses a special technique called EKG gating. This process
connects the patient to EKG leads so the images can be created during
specific phases of heart contraction, usually during ventricular diastole. This
reduces cardiac motion in the images. Gating can actually be used for any
scan of the chest to reduce the effect of heart motion n the images.

CT Myelogram:

CT has a limited ability to evaluate brain tumors...

Give this one a try later!

Primary brain tumors can be malignant or benign. Examples of primary
malignant brain tumors include astrocytoma and meduloblastoma. The
most common benign brain tumors are meningioma and acoustic
neuromas. They usually appear as a single well-defined lesion. Metastatic
brain tumors are usually smaller and appear in multiples

CTA Coronary Arteries (Heart):
Slice parameters-

0.625 mm

CT Soft Tissue Neck:
Contrast-

Give this one a try later!

100 ml IV contrast at 3 ml/sec. Scan delay time varies significantly between
institutions

,CTA Head and Neck:
Slice parameters-

Give this one a try later!

1.25 mm slices with matching or overlapping interval to view small vascular
changes. This is slightly thicker than CTA head since the section being
scanned is larger

CT Liver:
Non contrast-

Give this one a try later!

The scan is valuable to establish a baseline view of the liver
that can be compared to the contrast enhanced phases

Dialysis catheters-

Give this one a try later!

Not acceptable for pressure injection

CT Liver:
Indications-

, Give this one a try later!

Known or suspected liver cancer

CT Head:
To create the best 3D images, it might be necessary to retrospectively create a
special series with these parameters:

Give this one a try later!

- Thin slices
- Overlapping interval
- Smoothing algorithm
The use of thin, overlapping slices avoids a blocky appearance in the 3D
images. Notice that a smoothing algorithm should be used for the 3D
rendering, even when the bones are to be viewed. The bone algorithm
creates too much image noise to be useful in the 3D images.

CT Head:
Algorithm-

Give this one a try later!

Both standard and bone reconstructions

Vision changes should be evaluated in CT using which imaging protocol?
