(b) An engineer employed by a private entity, unless he/she
performs the service/testing for a fee outside of the employment

regulations may provide for, but need not be limited to,
requirements that the applicant for a license pass an examination or
possess the qualifications necessary to perform the prescribed
service, maintenance, and testing, or both

Answer: (a) Applicant made a material misrepresentation or false
statement in the application
(b) Violation of any provision of this chapter or any regulation
adopted by the State Fire Marshal pursuant to this chapter
◉ 13198. What is the license period? What is the annual license fee
renewal period? What is the penalty for not paying the renewal fees
, before the end of the fee renewal period? Answer: The license
period is January 1 to December 31.
The annual license fee renewal period shall begin on September 1
and end on November 1 preceding the license year for which the
renewal is requested.
The penalty for not paying the renewal fees before November 1 is 50
percent of the license fee.
◉ 13198.5 Can local agencies adopt or enforce
ordinances/rules/regulations regarding automatic fire extinguishing
systems that are inconsistent with the provisions of this chapter?
Answer: No
◉ 13199. What is the penalty for violating any provisions of this
chapter or any regulation or building standard adopted by the State
Fire Marshal? Answer: A misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to
$10,000 or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or by
both. A person is guilty of a separate offense each day during which
he/she violates this chapter

maliciously constructs/maintains a fire-protection system with the
intent to install a fire protection system which is known to be
inoperable or to impair the effective operation of a system, so as to
threaten the safety of any occupant or user of the structure in the
event of a fire? Answer: Imprisonment in the state prison for 2-4
years
