Exam coverage for the NYS EMT State Exam includes foundational
and clinical emergency medical care concepts required for
certification as an Emergency Medical Technician in New York State. It
focuses on patient assessment, airway management, breathing and
circulation support, trauma care, medical emergencies, obstetric and
pediatric emergencies, and EMS operations. The exam also evaluates
understanding of vital signs, shock management, CPR, spinal
immobilization, pharmacology basics (such as oxygen and
epinephrine protocols where applicable), and
communication/documentation procedures.
