FIELDING VOLUME II TESTING MANUAL FUNDAMENTALS
Discuss the relationship between CeTARS and CANTRAC
CANTRAC is a component of CeTARS.
Describe the "A", "C", "F", "G" type courses of instruction. Initial Skill Training
provides basic knowledge and skills required to prepare for entry level
performance. This includes initial skill training (i.e. Apprentice Training "A"
schools) rating conversion training (i.e. Master of Arms Training), and entry
level Officer training. A NEC or MOS may be awarded.
Describe the "A" "C" "F" "G" type courses of instruction. Skill Progression
Training
Provides advanced specialized skills, knowledge, aptitude, or qualifications,
required to fill a particular billet (e.g. one which requires a specific skill
code is NEC/Officer
Billet Specialty Training (BST) coded. Course completion leads to or awards
a NEC or Officers BST. may also lead to or award a MOS.
Describe the "A" "C" "F" "G" type courses of instruction. Functional training
provides individual functional skill or rating-specific training as required by
Fleet or Type Commander. No NEC awarded.

Segment Skill Progression Training
provides prerequisite knowledge, skills, and techniques in a segment
course of a NEC-awarding pipeline and is not a rating-wide
requirement.
Discuss a Person Event Code and where it can be found and entered
when a student is accelerated, the CS is responsible for ensuring that a
CeTARS schoolhouse Person Event (PEVT) code is assigned and provided to
the student
control officer for input into the current NETC-approved student information
system, which is currently CeTARS. The total number of accelerations for a
course will be summarized and tracked as a total Training Quality Indicator
(TQI).

Continue with Class (CWC)-allows a continuation of training in the present
class with or without remediation
Setback- allows an extension of training with or without remediation. Test
scores and interviews should indicate an ability to achieve the LOs after
repeating the portion of the training that was not successfully completed. If
remediation can be achieved in any way than setback, it will be considered
first.
Drop from Training- when ARB board members reach a consensus that the
student demonstrates unwillingness or an inability to continue the training,
they will
recommend that the student by reclassified or attired; final approval of this
recommendation is made by the CO or OIC.
Discuss the local learning center's standard for student record composition
The specific content of a student record and the procedures for
maintaining those records will vary among training activities due to the
type of training provided and the method used to store the records. A-
School courses for example may require different student information that
F school courses. The method of storage may vary based on the information
technology (IT) equipment and software programs
available to a command. The use of electronic media is highly encouraged.
