The Challenges Facing the United States
Introduction
Based on previous history, discrimination against minority groups has been a subject of
differential and negative treatment. The minorities are subjected to hardship due to the
implemented stereotypes narrative in society. The problem has been caused by lack of equal
treatment when accessing government entities and private sectors. Based on the feasibility study,
the minority groups face discrimination while seeking for government services and job
opportunities (Healey, et al., 2018). For instance, the discrimination against the minority groups
has included a wide array of negative treatment from acquiring loans from the financial
institution. In addition, the minority groups have reported discrimination in the workplace due to
lack of promotion and equal pay. Sadly, minority groups such as women lack promotions due to
gender stereotypes. The research conducted showed that men earn more than women in the
United States. Social nature and discrimination are primarily impacted by popular culture. The
values and norms articulate the gender roles and the responsibility of males and women. The
problem has denied status and wealth to the minority groups. This paper on the social structural
elements that define three distinct minority groups such as American women, Indian women, and
Asian women.
The Native Experience
Native minorities are the only group whose states emerged as a result of military force and
the use of coercive force. The Native Americans are also known as the first Americans or
indigenous Americans. Statistically, among the 574 tribes in the United States, half of them are
associated with the Indian reservation. Additionally, the Native Americans arrived in the United
States at least 15,000 years ago (Byerly, 2019). Besides, the tribe is said to be the first tribe

before the invasion of the white people in the land. The decline of the native Indians has been
caused by warfare, disease, ethnic cleansing, and slavery. Generally, warfare was intense and led
to the spread of diseases and slavery (Byerly, 2019). The case study showed that Native
American soldiers suffered from warfare wounds and seas, such as malaria (Byerly, 2019).
Furthermore, colonialism continued to wage war on the native Indians by implementing
discriminative police and one-sided treaty.
In the contemporary world, there are about five million Native Americans in the United
States. In addition, 68% of the native population live outside reservations such as Oklahoma,
California, and Arizona (Rose, & Gerencser, 2019). Additionally, the largest population of
Native Americans live in rural areas and small-town areas. Essentially, the federal government
introduced a treaty that was focused on the government to government level. Sadly, the
discrimination towards the native Americas began with the enactment of the Indian
Appropriations Act of 1871. The enactment was aimed at introducing relevant freedom and
recognition as Americans. However, the enactment did not include public rights such as voting
but focused on the right to protection. The Native Americans had the right to protection from the
law and freedom as the tribal government.
The dominant group in the United States used education as the weapon of killing the
Indians Americans social structure. The governing group compelled the children to attend
boarding schools. The United States government managed to send ten thousand children to
boarding school in the 19the century. Sadly, the statistics showed that Carlisle and other 150
schools were infested by deadly disease (Vitale, 2020). Despite the schools being owned by the
United States government, it failed to incorporate measures for preventative care and recovery
for the patients. The study shows that the schools were susceptible to deadly infections such as
