ACTIVITY 1
1.1 Multiple Intelligences
a. Interpersonal Intelligence
Interpersonal intelligence refers to the ability to understand and interact effectively with
others. According to Gardner, this form of intelligence enables individuals to recognise
emotions, motivations, and intentions in others, allowing them to communicate and
collaborate effectively (Gardner, 2011). Learners with strong interpersonal intelligence
tend to be empathetic, cooperative, and socially aware. They thrive in environments that
involve teamwork and discussion.
From an Environmental Education perspective, interpersonal intelligence is important
because environmental issues require collective action, cooperation, and shared
responsibility.
