what is supply chain? any organization, anywhere in the world, offering a product or a
service, has a supply chain; how a product comes to be, how it is
made, moved, stored, and delivered to a customer; products/services
are created from materials, equipment, labor, time, money, and other
resources; producing and delivering products/services requires
suppliers, manufactures, and customers, all of which make up a supply
chain; supply chains can be very simple or very complex; supply
chains exist in organizations that are: large or small, public or private,
for profit or not for profit; everyone needs a supply chain
structure of a supply chain suppliers -> manufacturer -> customers; a supply chain consists of the
flow of materials and products from suppliers, to manufactures, to
customers; each are "links" in the supply chain; front part of the supply
chain are the customers, where products need to get to; back part of
the supply chain (beginning) are the suppliers, which give you all the
(raw) materials; the middle part of the supply chain are the
manufacturers, which makes the products; facilitated through the use
