Exam Coverage
Exam coverage for the BC-ADM Exam (Board Certified - Advanced
Diabetes Management) includes advanced clinical knowledge
required for healthcare professionals managing patients with diabetes.
It focuses on diabetes pathophysiology, comprehensive assessment,
pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic management (including
insulin therapy and oral agents), glucose monitoring technologies, and
individualized treatment planning. The exam also evaluates
understanding of acute and chronic complications, nutrition therapy,
exercise, patient education, and behavioral strategies for self-
management.
Emphasis is placed on clinical decision-making, optimizing glycemic
,control, preventing complications, interdisciplinary collaboration, and
applying evidence-based guidelines to improve outcomes for patients

Type 1 Diabetes
Due to autoimmune beta cell destruction, usually leading to absolute
insulin deficiency
Type 2 Diabetes
Due to progressive loss of adequate beta-cell insulin secretion
frequently on the background of insulin resistance

Maturity Onset Diabetes of Young; shows up when you're an
adolescent or young adult. It's caused by mutations that affect how
well your body makes insulin
LADA
Latent autoimmune Diabetes; LADA happens because your body
makes antibodies that cause the immune system to attack the insulin-
making cells of your pancreas.
