Organization - ANS ✔✔the IOC is at the very heart of world sport, supporting every Olympic
movement stakeholder, promoting Olympism worldwide, and overseeing the regular
celebration of Olympic games
, President of IOC - ANS ✔✔· Thomas Bach; President is elected by a session. The members vote
in a secret ballot. The length of the president's term is a fixed period of 8 years. The Olympic
charter defines the role of the president, particularly his or her representation function
Executive Committee - ANS ✔✔· made up of the president, 4 vice presidents and 10 other
members. All members of the IOC executive board are elected by the session, in a secret ballot,
by a majority of the votes cast. The duration of the terms of office of the vice-presidents and of
the ten other members of the executive board is four years.
Commissions - ANS ✔✔IOC commissions may be created for the purpose of advising the
session, the IOC executive board or the president as the case may be. The president establishes
permanent or other standing or ad hoc commissions and working groups whenever it appears
necessary.
Sessions - ANS ✔✔Primary role is to award the location of the Olympic games. It's the IOC's
supreme organ, and its decisions are final. An ordinary session is held once a year, while
extraordinary sessions may be convened by the president or upon the written request of at
least one-third of the members.
Financials - ANS ✔✔the IOC is entirely privately funded and ever since the first modern Olympic
games in Athens in 1896 it has relied upon contributions from commercial partners to stage the
games and support the Olympic movement. The IOC redistributes 90% of its revenue, meaning
that every day the equivalent of over USD 3.4 million is distributed to support athletes and
sports organizations at all levels around the world

through merchandising programmes that are aligned with the Olympic image and enhance
brand value and goodwill. The objective is to strengthen and promote the Olympic brand, not
