NURS 6521 Week 4 Assignment, Asthma and Step wise Management
Walden University NURS 6521 Week 4 Assignment, Asthma and Step wise Management How step wise management assists nurses and patients: An asthma action plan is a written document established by the advanced practice nurse or other health care provider and the patient. The action plan should include the patient’s daily medication list, education to help them realize worsening of their condition, and steps they can take to bring about these changes. ("Stepwise Management," 2013, para. 7) Having the patient understand what triggers an asthma attack will help prevent attacks, i.e. avoid pet dander. The patient having an understanding of their medications, adverse effects and special considerations when taking them is essential to proper asthma management. The asthmatic patient should be aware of what medications and steps to take if they do not have control over their asthma
