Human Communication - ANSWER-The process of managing messages for the
purpose of creating shared meaning.
A transaction - ANSWER--between at least two people

Messages - ANSWER-Verbal or nonverbal, intentional or non-intentional
Input - ANSWER-all the stimuli both past and present that give us our information
about the world
Verbal message - ANSWER-any type of spoken communication that uses one or
more words.
Nonverbal messages - ANSWER-include nonverbal aspects of behavior; facial
expression, posture, tone of voice, hand movements, manner of dress and so on. Or
they are all the messages we transmit without words or over and above the words
we use.
Channels - ANSWER-the medium through which a message is sent
Interference - ANSWER-Prevents message from being received, or prevents
intended meaning from being understood
Technical interference - ANSWER-factors that cause the receiver to perceive
distortion in the intended information or stimuli.
ex: your ears are ringing so you can't hear the person
Semantic interference - ANSWER-occurs when the receiver does not attribute the
same meaning to the signal that the sender does.
ex: you have different meanings of words, leads to misunderstanding
Feedback - ANSWER-the return to you of behavior you have generated (the
response)
