DMAIC - Answer A six-sigma process:
Define: Clearly pronounce business problem, goal, business resources, etc.
Measure: Establish current baselines as basis for improvement. Data collection, purpose of
which to establish, process performance baselines.
Analyze: Identify, validate, accept root cause for elimination.
Improve: Identify, test and implement a solution to a problem.
Control: Embed the changes, ensure stability.
The 5 Whys?: - Answer Ask why at least 5 times to help you get down to the root cause of
the problem. (Not always exactly 5 whys, sometimes more and sometimes less, usually the root
cause is in the 5th why).
Benefits of the 5 Whys?: - Answer Easy to teach, easy to use, starter tool, prevents band-aid
solution.
Drawbacks of the 5 Whys?: - Answer Not repeatable, results are biased, Limited to personal
experience.
