ASA classification- pts categorized based on medical condition
I- Healthy
II- Mild systemic diseae (Smoker, pregnant)
III- Moderate to severe disease with functional limits (DM, COPD, HTN)
IV- Severe disease with functional incapacity
V- Survival of < 24 hours
VI- Organ donor
Monitors pertinent to CRNAs - ANSWER Pulse Ox

Capnography- measures CO2 in exhaled breath
BIS (bispectal index) monitor- number that measures brain activity and conscious level (lower number-
more sedated; 0-100)
Endotracheal Intubation - ANSWER Insertion of a tube into the trachea through the vocal cords to
secure the airway during surgery
