Dynamic Strength Testing:
Give this one a try later!
one rep max
-max weight that can be lifted for one complete rep of the movement
through the full ROM
Valsalva Maneuver
Give this one a try later!
holding your breath to stabilize and increase effectiveness of trunk muscles
, Free Weights
Give this one a try later!
Dynamic Testing equipment
-require more neuromuscular coordination to stabilize body parts and
maintain balance
-spotters may be needed
Trail and Error Procedure for 1-RM testing
Give this one a try later!
1. subject should warm up with submax reps (5-10 and 40%-60% RM)
2. Rest and stretch muscles (1-2 minutes)
3. select initial attempt weight that is within the subject's perceived capacity
(50-70% of max)...make first attempt
4. If successful, wait 3-5 minutes, increase weight by 2.5 to 20kg and try
again
5. Continue until failure
determine within 4 trials
Constant Resistance Machines
Give this one a try later!
-no spotters
-limit joint ROM and plane of movement
-large weight increment...potentially less accurate
