USA Ban on Huawei

The US ban on Huawei is can be seen as a tactical economic strategy, an ethical concern

by the US government or as a political move to control the world market. Huawei is a Chinese

mobile company and the global leader in the supply of telecommunication equipment. Much of

its operation is carried out overseas where it obtains a market for its products and services. Just

like in other industries, China has continuously been in a war to control the global market, a

power that is presently held by the United States (Havráneková & Dvorsky, 2019). The battle

between the two powerful states has been on for many years, with both states jostling to control

the future of technology. Thus Huawei saga is about who can access the future data and control

it. In the line of trade, the Huawei dispute can be viewed as a breach of business ethics as

explained in into details in the later sections of this paper.

Cons

China and the United States produces similar technology in computer and

telecommunication industries. Chinese government directly controls its big technology firms and

monitors their data (Kaska, Beckvard & Minarik, 2019). Due to rapid change in technology, it is

believed that, for instance, 5G will be the next available wireless network technology, which will

be far much faster than the current 4G wireless. However, 5G will need new equipment and

phones to avoid compatibility issues. Huawei has taken the lead in developing the 5G network

and its compatible equipment and phones to an extent it cannot be replaced in wireless carriers

(Kaska, Beckvard & Minarik, 2019). Its moves are seen to be aimed at monopolizing the market.

This is unethical business conduct. The US and many countries, therefore, view this as a threat.

In the global view, the move by the US government to block Huawei company can be

viewed as an attempt by the US to suppress the economy of China to control the global market.
