Step by step guide Chi-square
Goal: to examine whether and to what extent two categorical variables are associated with/related to each other.
Both the independent and dependent variable are categorical.
Hypothesis:
Null-hypothesis H0 no association with one another.
Alternative hypothesis H1 an association with one another.
Assumptions of X 2 -test:
1. All expected frequencies are sufficiently large (> 5).
a. Not large enough frequencies: Fisher exact test.
2. Independence of data.
a. Violation of independence: McNemar test.
