A. Ethical standards play a big role when it comes to shaping the way professionals
conduct and carry themselves by offering clear expectations to maintain their
reputation. In cybersecurity, personal history and one’s character contribute to
gaining opportunities and progressing professionally. A strong performance
history that is aligned with ethical practices can help assured clearances that
others might not be eligible for. This demonstrates reliability as well as integrity.
Following these ethical standards also promotes personal growth by promoting
professionalism and ethical behavior. They serve as a foundation for
understanding how to protect sensitive and confidential information, respect
privacy, and act fairly toward others.
B. When I used to work In an IT position, two ethical values that strictly align with
my daily obligations would be integrity and impartiality. I often organized with
both vendors and the finance team to get technology resources. Maintaining
honesty is essential and it ensures that vendors receive accurate payments, and
we got the correct goods or services. When delays occurred in the approval
process, I make it a point to communicate openly, clarifying the situation and
providing updates as things would progress. I would say fairness is equally
important, especially when I had to evaluate bids. I had to remain impartial when
selecting the quote that was most suitable for our needs, which is particularly
significant given that I was working within a government setting.
C. Advanced technology has its ups and downs by bringing both opportunity and
risk, depending on how it’s used. Artificial Intelligence or AI has the potential to
cause harm when it is misused or managed poorly. One example of this is the rise
of DeepFake videos and fixed algorithmic bias, which have contributed to
problems in areas such as hiring. DeepFakes, are highly realistic but digitally
fabricated media, can easily be mistaken for authentic content. This can lead to
the spread of false information and undermining trust (Pandya, 2024).
