Due to the recent news report that an organization like ours has experienced an employee
falsifying expense report for financial gain, we must ensure that our organization will not fall
into the same situation. Considering the similar operations this incident hits close to home. This
memo details the key findings of the organizational culture, climate and business ethics at
Rescue Dogs Rock.
Organizational culture is defined as the beliefs, values, and assumptions of the
organization (Agarwal, J., Malloy, D.C., 1999). Nonprofit organizations such as Rescue Dogs
Rock have a unique culture due to the nature of the work that the organization does. This culture
is often understood immensely by the volunteers, leadership, and community as these people are
devoting their time and efforts into the organization without pay. However, it is not safe to
assume that the culture is understood by the individuals. After careful research the organization
has had no incidents, however, Rescue Dogs Rock is not doing everything they can to ensure that
the values, and beliefs of the organization are understood.
Rescue Dogs Rock presents themselves as a compassionate, understanding organization
that simply wants the world to help right the wrongs done against dogs in the United States. By
