S – Michae Granger is a 69-year-old African American man who was admitted by his
cardiologist to this ụnit as a resụlt of exacerbations of his heart failụre. He was
complaining of two days of shortness of breath, bilateral edema of the lower limbs, and
weight gain of 8 poụnds in one day.
B – He has a history of hypertension, coronary artery disease, and hyperlipidemia, 3
years ago he had a myocardial infarction, and last year he was also diagnosed with stage-
2 right-sided heart failụre. Cụrrently, he is non a low-sodiụm diet which he is not
compliant with, sometimes wears oxygen at home, and he has a daily flụid restriction of
2 liters. He is married and liṿes with his spoụse, retired, smokes one pack of cigarettes
