A. Assess your ability to gather informaton on your client within the iHuman Virtual
Patent Encounter.
1. Use the iHuman score sheet to review your results for the focused health history
and focused physical exam. How did you perform?
I performed quite well on the focused health history with an 89%, and not so
well on the focused physical exam with only a 50%. I believe that I performed
poorly on the focused physical exam, because I was unsure how focused I should
be. I also was unfamiliar with needing to listen to lung and heart sounds for a full
breath and beat and each listening point. I now know for the future how to
properly assess lung and heart sounds for my patents on iHuman.
2. What did you find easy or difficult about navigatng through the focused health
history and focused physical exam sectons of the case?
I found it easy to go back and forth between the patent and the EHR. I found it
difficult at tmes to find the focused questons that I was wantng to ask, because
some categories had so many questons to choose from. The vitals were easy to
find and assess during the physical exam, and it made it easy when chartng that
the vitals were pulled over into the EHR.
3. Describe one strategy to improve your performance in the next Virtual Patent
Encounter.
I will begin each virtual encounter in the appropriate mindset of either a
comprehensive or a focused assessment. I will keep this in mind throughout the
entre virtual patent encounter to ensure that I do not ask any unnecessary
questons and/or I include all necessary questons. I will then be sure that when I
am auscultatng, I am listening for long enough at each listening point.
