I. Introduction:


Dear Mr. Barney,

My name is Chatney Redd and I am submitting my application for Director of Finance. I am
currently a manager in the purchasing department of Biotech. I have the experience of
monitoring day to day operations and assisting the executive team in strategically planning
goals for the company’s future. My leadership models that of a Stewart leadership that focuses
on others rather than self. I believe this will balance other leadership skills in the company.
“Leaders create the vision, strategies, and are the facilitator for developing the strong
employees to move the organization forward. (Ken Blanchard companies) As a manager of the
finance department, I have the ability to adapt to work situations and support staff while
achieving overall goals. I am capable of identifying issues and coordinating with other
departments to integrate solutions.


During my profession, I have the pleasure of developing strong and trusting relationships with
my staff, preparing them for advancement in the company through motivating and coaching
strategies, and continue providing them with tools to improve their performances. I am eager
to align my practices in the next leadership role to accomplish collaboration between
departments to efficiently implement Biotech’s mission and vision.

I am an exceptional decision maker. I possess great knowledge and experience in developing
and implementing improvements to current processes to promote a more efficient way
complete tasks. In this role, I will use my influence to continue to build and maintain
relationships and work collectively with executives and other departments in establishing a
foundation for new and future locations.

, II. Position to be considered:


I wish to be considered for the Director of Finance position. The leadership competencies
required for this position are honesty and integrity, resilient, resourceful, optimistic and
energetic, communicates effectively, and managing change. In regard to the leadership
competencies outlined for this position, I believe that I meet all the requirements for this
position and have the knowledge and experience to perform in this role. I am honest,
innovative, collaborative and have the ability to adapt to different environments. Due to
Biotech’s new business locations, I think the competencies I have fits best for this position.


III. Leadership Competencies for position:


I am flexible and have the ability of adapt to any work situation. I have excellent
communication skills and have been very successful in directing and assigning tasks to
employees. “The ability to communicate appropriately is an essential component for effective
leadership.” (Ken Blanchard companies) In addition to speaking English, I am proficient in
French and also speak Spanish at an intermediate level. I have great critical thinking and
problem-solving skills which helps develops excellence solutions that can be used as future
models. I am a quick learner which means I have the ability to keep up with the demands of
managing multiple projects. I am an optimistic person that can unify departments and create
organizational growth.



IV. Jung Personality Test Outcome


According to the Jung Personality Test, I am an ENFJ which translates to Extravert, Intuitive,
Feelings and Judging. This means that I am very expressive and have the type of charisma that
draws people to my nurturing state. I genuinely care about the well-being of staff and
encourage them to work hard and achieve goals. The test reflects my capability to manage
situations and analyze the best outcome to for resolutions as it relates to the job description. I
also scored high on the Self Esteem test which let me know that I have great problem-solving
skills and I project my happiness onto others.


V. Communications Skills Test Outcome:


The outcome of my communication test indicate that I have a solid foundation for effective
communication. I believe my communications skills and leadership style combined creates a
warm and healthy environment that motivates team members to accomplish goals. My
communication skills improve productivity, increases engagement, provided clarity and
promotes team building. I am an excellent listener which is also an important part of
communicating.
