Family Relationships
Introduction
The societal-norms develop a range of popular media entertainment comprising television
programs, films, and books. These programs feature characters’ stories that are part of non-
traditional and traditional structures of relationship or family. Amid the instances that are
observed commonly both in the media and in real life are same-sex couples, blended families,
single-parent households, cohabitation, traditional families, along with grandparents as the
primary caregivers for the grandchildren. Such relationships and family structures’ proliferation
has had the impact of changing how society sees family life’s nature. The family’s definition
increasingly is turning out to be more flexible. Similarly, family relationships are turning out to
be more diverse. The wider society’s parallel feature comprises the point that social changes
have occurred in a manner that societal norms have turned out to be more accepting of dissimilar
family structures’ types too.
Personal Relationships
“Supergirl,” a science fiction television series is based on the character of a comic book.
The television series is named as same as the comic book. Also, the characters are featured by
the series in personal or family relationships, along with a number of relationships represented in
the TV series. For this program, a key aspect comprises the fact that technically a number of the
characters are human-like characters but not like real humans. Though, it has been shown that
these characters are living among humans on Earth, along with adopting the human lifestyle.
These human-like characters even formed relationships with other humans. This is an interesting
program for the reason that it shows a feminist viewpoint concerning the characters. Within the
series, The primary characters’ majority are female, comprising both human-like and human
