THE 5 Layers of the Epidermis with function of each one in simple words
Stratum Corneum.
- This is the most protective outer layer of the skin, which protects our skin and body
from bacteria, pathogens and chemicals.
- Also known as the Horny Layer.
Stratum Lucideum
- This is the second layer and is only found on palms of hands and soles of the feet.
- Function: A very thin layer that is used to help with friction.
Stratum Granulosum
- The cells lose their nuclei and cells flatten, leading to the process of keritinisation.
- This process is needed to prevent any fluid loss, which creates a waterproof barrier.
Stratum Spinosom
- There are keratinocytes that are made in the basal layer that are here in this part of
the epidermis. This strenahthens the skin making it tighter using cells like
desmosomes.
- There is also something called Langerhans cells, which are in the immune system to
prevent it from pathogens.
Stratum Basal Layer.
- This is the layer of the cells that is the deepest.
- Meant to be there for mitosis to provide new cells.
THE BONES OF THE FOREARM:
The forearm has a large group of muscles designed to control the wrist and fingers
with movement.
Radius: This is the lateral side where the raise lies, which is on our pinky side.
- The job of this is to help you rotate your hand when turning your hand.
Ulna: This is where the medial bone is on the pinky side.
- This part helps with stability. It helps to bend and straighten your arm without any
dislocation.
LOWER LEG BONES:
Tibia: This is the shin bone. It supports most of our body’s weight and and he,so with
lifting your foot.
