Area and volume
- Area of a trapezium: area = ½(a+b)h where a and b are parallel sides
- Area of a circle: area = πr²
- Circumference of a circle: πd or 2πr
- Volume of a prism: Area of cross section x length
- Volume of a cylinder: πr²h
Circle theorems
- Angle at the centre is twice the angle at the circumference.
- Angles in the same segment are equal.
- Opposite angles in a cyclic quadrilateral add up to 180°.
- Angle in a semi-circle is 90°.
- Tangent to a radius meets at 90°.
2.Trigonometry
For right-angled triangles, use SOH CAH TOA. For non-right-angled triangles, use the
Rules.
The Rules:
Sine rule: (a ÷ sine A) = (b ÷ sine B) = (c ÷ sine C)
Cosine rule: a² = b² + c² – 2bc cos A (Use for SAS or SSS triangles).
Area of a triangle: ½ab sin C
