Integration Paper: Allies Model
Examining the relationship between psychology and Christianity is especially important
in the understanding of how these two disciplines interact, compliment, and differ with each
other. Both disciplines offer valuable insight into the complex nature of human beings with direct
attention shown to the mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing characteristics of people. With
this said, there are figures like Freud who have carried views of these disciplines being
incompatible with one another and beliefs that the two should stay separated. On the other hand,
figures like Entwistle believe that their relationship is unique and can lead to a more nuanced
understanding of human nature, behavior, and overall health (Entwistle, 2015). When
thoughtfully considering the science behind psychology and the faith fueling Christianity,
combining the two can give a more holistic view that gives a more rounded perspective. Because

Christianity and the importance of accepting both disciplines.
Methods of Knowing for Christians
For Christians, there are several appropriate methods of knowing, with an emphasis on
truth. Christians are called to seek the truth, a fundamental aspect of their faith. This is supported

understood than with another model. Entwistle (2015) also importantly notes that this model has
a major influence on human thinking, marking an importance in the formation of a well-rounded
Christian worldview that includes psychology with a high regard for human life. The Allies
