I. Reflection of Light
Reflection is the phenomenon where light bounces off a polished surface,
like a mirror, to the same medium.
Light is a form of energy that enables us to see the world around us.
Optics 1
, We see an object when light from a source falls on it and bounces (reflects)
into our eyes.
II. The Laws of Reflection
The angle of incidence is always equal to the angle of reflection.
The incident ray, the reflected ray, and the normal point of incidence all line
in the same plane.
III. Regular vs. Diffused Reflection
Regular Reflection: Occurs on smooth surfaces (like mirrors) where all light
rays reflect in one direction.
Diffused (Irregular) Reflection: Occurs on rough surfaces where light
reflects in different directions, which is why we don’t see s clear image on a
wall.

V. How Lateral Version Works
1. When you stand in front of a mirror, light rays from your body travel toward
the mirror and reflect back to your eyes. Because the mirror reflects
everything at the exact same distance it is in front of the mirror:
The "front" of your face is the "front" of the image.
