Exam Coverage
Exam coverage for the Flagger ATSSA Test includes fundamental work
zone traffic control and flagging operations certification through the
American Traffic Safety Services Association. It focuses on proper
flagging procedures, hand-signaling techniques, use of STOP/SLOW
paddles, and communication with motorists and work crews. The exam
also evaluates understanding of work zone setup, traffic control
devices, visibility and safety requirements, hazard recognition, and
basic roadway safety regulations (including MUTCD principles).
Emphasis is placed on ensuring safe traffic flow in construction and
maintenance zones, protecting workers and motorists, and applying
,correct flagging techniques to prevent accidents and maintain
