Exam 1 contains modules 1-2-3. Module 4 is part of
exam 2, but this is upcoming materials to assist in
preparation and time management.
Module Reading
1. Integumentary (relating to the skin and its appendages, such as hair and nails),
Musculoskeletal (relating to the muscles and bones of the body),
and Cancer (a disease caused by uncontrolled division of abnormal cells).
Previous Chapter 3: focus on module 1, 2, 4 (focus on skin and burn injuries, arthritis).
Previous Chapter 7: Module 1, 2
Add Chapter 19: Module 2, 3, 4 (focus on osteoporosis (a condition in which bones become weak and
brittle)).
2. Foundations of Cellular Regulation and Fluid Balance
Add Chapter 1—focus on terminology.
Chapter 2: focus on module 1, 2, 3.
Chapter 8—focus on module 1, 2, 3 (only dehydration (a condition that results when the body loses more
fluids than it takes in)—table 8.3, not cirrhosis (a chronic liver disease marked by scarring of liver tissue)
or hypoparathyroidism (a condition in which the body secretes abnormally low levels of parathyroid
hormone, affecting calcium balance)).

3. Inflammation, Immunity, and Infection
Chapter 4 immunity: focus on module 1, 2, 4,

Make sure to know the figures:

Note: Do not go in depth. Very basic understanding of infection and the process of it. We will use this
chapter again in other modules for system-specific infections.
