The Negative Effects of the Roman Conquests During the Late Republic Era

The late republic era contributed to some of the unrest periods Rome has ever experienced. Political

instability and social unrest were the major negative effects of the late republic era. Rome advanced its

government from tyranny to republic in later times a monarchy or autocratic one. The transition from a

republic to autocracy was a violent event that took many roman lives. The ruling body during the

republic era was aristocratic and public offices were limited to only these aristocratic and wealthy class.

These wealthy class only passed rules in their own favor in expense of the public. The poor became

poorer, and debtors increased, and many public lands were for this small aristocratic group. Two
