‘Hydrology’ is derived from

meaning ‘Water’ and ‘Logos’
meaning ‘Study’. It is the
scientific study of the
movement, distribution and
quality of water on Earth and
other planets, water cycle
and water resources.

pedon, meaning 'soil, Earth,'
and genesis, meaning 'origin,
birth') (also termed soil
