AXM2: Achieving Quality Outcomes through Value-Based Care AXM2 Template
A. Value-Based Care
The health care organizations are under pressure like never before to provide
high-quality care and, at the same time, control the costs in addition to enhancing
patient satisfaction. Value-based care strategies to be applied in order to optimize
patient outcomes and establish a culture of continuous quality improvement (CQI)
require advanced professional nurses. The current paper will discuss the culture of
continuous quality improvement, the elements of value-based care, the strategies that
can be used to implement value-based care in healthcare organizations, and the
processes that must be used to evaluate the effectiveness of such initiatives.
Three Components of Value-Based Care
In the healthcare industry, value creation focuses on the health
outcomes that individuals and institutions achieve while maintaining an optimal cost-
benefit ratio (Almodaimegh et al., 2025). The first one, improved health outcomes, is the
key aim of healthcare delivery. This encompasses the clinical outcomes, which are the
decline in the rate of mortality and morbidity, and the functional outcomes that concern
the capacity of patients to conduct their day-to-day tasks. The second component is
improved patient experience, which acknowledges the fact that care quality goes
beyond clinical measures to patient satisfaction, patient involvement in decision-making,
and respect for patient values and preferences. The third element is cost management,
which recognizes that sustainable healthcare systems will have to lower the per capita
costs but not decrease the quality or even improve it. The three parts are synergistic to
generate value in healthcare per the Triple Aim framework of the Institute of Healthcare
Improvement.
