Hypokalemia (low and slow)

Causes: dehydration, K+ wasting diuretics, corticosteroids, diarrhea, vomiting, NG tubes

(decompression), insulin

S/S: hypoactive bowel sounds, weakness, confusion, lethargy, decreased ST segment, inverted T

waves, shallow breathing
