Normal clouds are classified into two categories: Convective clouds or cumuliform clouds (Cu) look like stacks of cotton balls, and are associated with updrafts. Layer clouds or stratiform clouds (St) look like sheets or blankets that can extend hundreds of kilometers horizontally
