At one point Sammy had so many customers that he had to turn some of them away! The customer base can be revived with the right marketing and advertisement plan, along with some new and innovative ideas that will spark great conversation for the music loving crowd to engage in. If we can shift the focus on the customer and give them a few things to look forward to I think the Blue Note Café can be saved from being closed. Company Weaknesses The Blue Note Café is not doing anything to generate traffic on a continuous basis, other than opening their doors to the public. The restaurant industry may be one of the most competitive industries in the world and will take a lot more marketing and promotional effort to stay alive in today’s market. Today’s technology has evolved and what may seem new today can become old within months of being launched! If your brand is not constantly being viewed by both loyal and potential customers, while your competitions brand is being viewed and talked about by everyone, the chances of your business failing increases daily. The Blue Note Café brand has to become a lot more visible if Sammy wants to continue to stay in business for himself. Opportunities Create an actual Brand and Culture Some of the previous customers may know the name of Sammy’s restaurant, but that’s not enough when considering the tough competition within the restaurant industry. Sammy will need to have a brand logo for his business that will need to stand out from the other restaurants. The symbol will need to speak volume and it must represent what the Blue Note Café stands for. The Blue Note Café will also need some type of saying or slogan that matches the culture and environment that the customer should feel as soon as they enter the front door. Sammy has already created a culture for the restaurant, but he will need to work on his brand, logo and slogan before anyone believes that his restaurant has a culture at all. Your brand logo is a way of saying everything about your business without any words at all!
