, 1. INTRODUCTION
A pumps’ behavior changes with different conditions. Therefore, it is important to identify how
these changes are occurring with varying conditions, in order to utilize a pump at its maximum
efficiency. Our main objective of this Lab experiment is to draw a characteristic curve for a
pump so that we can identify the behavior of the pump in different conditions. Thus, we can
determine how to keep pump at the maximum efficiency by obtaining the duty point of the
curve.
In this experiment we used single, parallel and series pump systems to accomplish the mentioned
objective. Two centrifugal pumps are used to form the pump systems and several pressure
gauges used to obtain pressures at key points in this system.
